Katie Corrigan, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Katie is a graduate of Antioch University, with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. She did her clinical training at both the Antioch University Counseling Center and the renowned Southern California Counseling Center, where she completed their intensive trauma training program. As a result of this, she became skilled in EMDR and the Trauma Resiliency Model, both core elements of her treatment approach for trauma and anxiety.
In addition to her work in private practice, Katie has spent time on staff as a Primary Therapist at The Sexual Recovery Institute, long known as one of the nation's premier treatment programs for Sex & Love Addiction. During this time, she took a special interest in working with the underlying trauma that often drives this addiction and also began working with the partners of addicts as they rebuild their lives. She then went on to work as a Primary Therapist and Program Manager at Malibu Vista, a women's residential treatment program affiliated with Promises Treatment Centers, where she gained additional experience in working closely with trauma, anxiety, co-dependency and other mental health issues.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Katie had a career in marketing and entertainment. During her time working for some of Los Angeles's most respected advertising agencies, she experienced first-hand the challenges of managing stress in the workplace and balancing the demands of life with a desire for professional success and fulfillment. Her personal experience inspires her to help clients execute career changes, manage stress and move through the blocks that may be holding them back from reaching their full potential.
